We had our Christmas today. Lucas was so excited. He’s just like a little boy on Christmas. He got 3 new toys, a new Harley, a bear and a donkey toy. He also got treats, bones and dog food. Lucky little boy. I’m glad Lucas is here, walking and healthy. He’s my Christmas present all over again. I got a few pictures…

The week Lucas was in the hospital, dad made him a ramp so he can go in and out side by himself. We all thought its time to bring it out and start using it. I think it brings more confidences to Luke when he knows he can walk in and out himself, instead of me picking him up all the time.

Finally lukie gets a real bath! This is the longest he has ever gone without a bath in his life. He smells like a baby now and soft like one too. He loves his bath time! I tried to get him to walk in there, but seems like its hard for him to lift his legs and actually walk. I guess thats kinda true with humans, its hard for us to walk in water too and we can feel our legs. Anyways…I have pics!!!

First day without the “red legs” (sling). I don’t think he needs it anymore. Not much else is going on with him. He seems to be more hungry then he used to, but then again we have stopped human food so i guess thats why. He’s always thirsty too. He drinks about 16 fl oz everyday, which I guess is normal…idk. Anyways, I got new video of him outside, first time on a leash and a pic of him eating for the second time today!

Tonight we got a smaller crate so he can stay in my room, instead of me camping out in the living room. Been hard on my back for these past weeks. Lukie likes it….he actually wanted to go his new crate…surprising! I think he’s getting used to these crates. Got picture…lukie was good boy at doctors yday, so he gets new toy!

Lukie went back to Purdue to get his staples out! His back looks good. They said his legs are getting better, and walking good. I have a whole big list of new therapy exercises I need to do with luke now.
–Sit-Stands 10-15 reps, 2-3 times a day
–Hydrotherapy (bathtub) 15 minutes, 2 a week
–Reverse Wheelbarrow 15-20 minutes 2-3 times a day
–Inclined Walking 5-10 minutes, 2-3 times a week
– Fatigue Squats 10-15 reps, 2-3 times a day
–Weight Shifting 1 minutes, 2-3 times a day
– Sling Assisted Walking
–ehem…someone needs to straighten up their bed/room…ehem

Today started out alright. Lukie poo was standing up on all 4 legs when I woke up this morning. I opened his crate, and here he came ready to walk. Don’t think he’s ready yet. I’ll let go of his butt, and he will walk alright for a few steps then his legs tend to go out like hes about to do the splits. He walks like he’s very drunk. Makes me laugh every time. I gave him a sponge bath today cause when he was sleeping he went ‘more potty’ on himself. Smelt worse then a baby’s. phew! Anyways, then later today I thought I would hold him on my bed and try to relax him, then stupid me laid him down on the bed and then he just kept inching closer and closer to the edge. I could tell he was about to jump and I caught him by pulling on his legs and my hand reached for his back so he wouldn’t jump and he screamed so loud. I might have hurt him a little but honest I just saved his life. I gave him pain pill after it and he’s been in his crate since then. Got picture of him after his sponge bath…

Luke’s two girlfriends came to the house today to visit him. He got really excited!! Lukie is still a pimp even without legs…hehe Got some pictures…(mum forgot to tell me the flash wasn’t on, so the pictures are kind of dark…sorry…)
